New changes in legislation concerning the activities of NGOs were discussed.

A practical seminar for non-governmental non-profit organizations (NNPOs) was organized in Kashkadarya Region jointly with the Public Fund for Support of Civil Society Institutions under the Oliy Majlis, the Center for Analysis of Democratic Processes, and the Kashkadarya Regional Branches of the National Association of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organizations of Uzbekistan.
At the event, participants were provided with detailed information on the procedure for participating in the state grant competition announced by the Public Fund under the Oliy Majlis and the opportunities to use the ngo.gov.uz platform for properly preparing and submitting projects.
Seminar speakers exchanged views on reforms implemented in our country in recent years to develop civil society, support the activities of NGOs, create favorable legal and organizational conditions for their activities, enhance their role in state and public governance, and improve social partnerships and public oversight.
Specifically, clarifications were provided on strengthening public oversight, enhancing guarantees for the freedom of NGO activity, and amendments and additions to legislation regulating sponsorship and charitable activities.
Furthermore, event participants were introduced to amendments to the laws "On Social Partnership" and "On Guarantees for the Activities of Non-Governmental Non-Commercial Organizations." These amendments provide for an improvement in the system of state support for civil society institutions, as well as the introduction of new mechanisms for placing social procurement contracts by government agencies.
The event concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony for the winners of the second state grants competition, announced by the Public Fund under the Oliy Majlis.
