Uzbekistan to Attend WSIS+20 Summit for the First Time

A delegation from Uzbekistan is participating for the first time in the prestigious WSIS+20 summit, which is being held in Geneva, Switzerland, from July 7 to 11 this year.

WSIS+20 — the World Summit on the Information Society, supported by the United Nations, is a global platform aimed at promoting digital development, achievements in ICT policy and inclusive dialogue.

The delegation includes representatives of a number of civil society institutions, such as the Center for Analysis of Democratic Processes and the Center for Progressive Reforms. A special panel session on “Media and ICT Development in Uzbekistan: Digital Inclusion and Strengthening Infrastructure” is planned to be held on July 10 as part of the summit, where the country's achievements in digital transformation, e-governance, media ecosystem and development of reliable infrastructure will be discussed.

In other words, this summit serves as an important platform for exchanging experiences of civil society in Uzbekistan, forming a global digital policy and increasing its activity in it.
