Transparency of state grants and the role of civil society institutions in the fight against corruption discussed in Samarkand

On 7 March 2025, a seminar was held in Samarkand region on the topic "Procedure of work with a single platform aimed at ensuring transparency of all processes related to the allocation of state grants and increasing the role of civil society institutions in combating corruption".

The event was organised by the Samarkand Regional  Division of the Centre for Analysis of Democratic Processes, in cooperation with the Samarkand Regional Branch of the Public Fund for Support of Non-Governmental Organizations and Other Civil Society Institutions under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The seminar was attended by representatives of non-governmental non-profit organisations operating in the region.

During the seminar, innovative solutions to ensure transparency in the allocation of state grants were discussed. In addition, special attention was given to the role and significance of civil society institutions in combating corruption. Speakers presented their proposals and recommendations on the effective use of state grants, strengthening public oversight, and enhancing cooperation with law enforcement agencies.

Participants also exchanged views on the effective participation of civil society institutions in the processes of utilizing and monitoring state grants. Mechanisms and practical methods for participating in grant competitions aimed at strengthening anti-corruption measures were also discussed.

At the conclusion of the event, the importance of further developing cooperation between civil society institutions and government agencies, as well as ensuring greater transparency and efficiency in the process of utilizing state grants, was emphasized.
