Representatives of civil society of Uzbekistan and the European Institute for Security Prospects and Studies met in France

On April 15, 2025, a meeting of a delegation of representatives of civil society institutions with the Director of the European Institute for Security Prospects and Studies in France Emmanuel Dupuis was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France.

The meeting was another practical step aimed at implementing the priorities outlined during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to France in March 2025, including establishing cooperation between civil society institutions.

In his speech, the head of the delegation A. Pardayev noted that civil society institutions are actively involved in communicating to the public the essence of the agreements reached between the heads of state, and also emphasized the importance of establishing direct contacts with think tanks and NGOs in France.
Delegation members B. Bekmurodov and S. Khodjaeva in their speeches also noted with satisfaction that relations between Uzbekistan and France have reached a new level, and emphasized the need to develop regional and intercommunity ties in cooperation between the two countries.
In turn, Emmanuel Dupuis highly appreciated the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan, expressing satisfaction with the results achieved in recent years, since he has been following the political and social processes in our country for 22 years. At the same time, he proposed organizing a regular exchange of experience between French and Uzbek specialists.
Also during the meeting, the difficulties arising in the activities of NGOs in the conditions of centralized government in France, as well as the work carried out on decentralization, were discussed. E. Dupuis emphasized that the experience of Uzbekistan is of great importance in these issues.
In addition, E. Dupuis proposed strengthening cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere by introducing the status of "sister cities" between the historical cities of Uzbekistan and France.
At the end of the meeting, the parties noted the usefulness and practical focus of the dialogue, and also agreed to continue working to further strengthen mutual cooperation relations.
